Privacy Policy
Effective 3 November 2026. Applies to the Dreamyra app on Android and iOS.
Summary
Dreamyra has no accounts. Your dreams, moods and analyses are stored only on your device. Dream text leaves your device only when you tap Analyze, and our server does not keep it.
Data stored on your device
Your journal (dream text, mood, date and analyses) and your settings are kept in the app's local storage. Deleting the app or using "Delete all data" in Settings removes them. We cannot see or restore this data.
Dream analysis
When you tap Analyze, the text of that dream, the mood you picked and the app language are sent over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to OpenAI, a third-party AI provider, to produce the analysis. You agree to this on the last onboarding screen. Our server does not write dream text to disk or logs. OpenAI processes it under its API data policy, which does not use API data to train models by default.
The text is also checked by an automated moderation step so the app can offer help resources for crisis topics and refuse disallowed content.
Usage limits
To limit abuse and pay for AI costs, the server keeps counters of analyses per day and whether the free analysis was used. Counters are keyed by a one-way hash of a random app installation ID and of your IP address, not by the ID or address themselves. Daily counters expire after the day ends.
If you report an analysis, only the reason you chose is recorded, not the dream text.
Voice input
Dictation uses your device's built-in speech recognition. Where on-device recognition is unavailable, the operating system may send audio to Apple or Google under their own privacy terms. Dreamyra does not record or store audio.
Advertising
Dreamyra is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and app interaction data to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where you consent. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland the app asks for consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your choice in Settings → Ad privacy choices. On iOS, personalized ads use the advertising ID only if you allow tracking. You can also reset or limit the advertising ID in your device settings.
Rewarded ads are confirmed through Google's server-side verification, which tells our server that an ad was watched for a given random code.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. They collect app usage events, device model, OS version and crash traces with a pseudonymous app instance ID. They do not receive dream text.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with the providers above (OpenAI, Google AdMob, Google Firebase) for the purposes described, or when required by law.
Children
Dreamyra is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Since we hold no account or journal data, most requests can be met by deleting data in the app. For questions or requests under GDPR, CCPA or similar laws, write to support@dreamyra.online.
Changes
We will update this page and its effective date when the app's data practices change.
